MEET WILLIAM

William Sargent is a passionate snake expert and educator based in Hong Kong, dedicated to changing the public's perception of snakes.

Growing up on Hong Kong’s Lantau Island, his fascination with reptiles began at a young age, leading him to handle venomous species like cobras and pythons by the time he was a teenager. Today, Sargent leads “snake safaris,” guiding curious participants through Hong Kong’s rural landscapes in search of these often misunderstood creatures. He’s also a frequent speaker at schools and community events. His mission is to replace fear with respect, educating the public on the vital ecological role snakes play while providing thrilling, hands-on experiences. Through his safaris and community outreach, Sargent hopes to dispel myths and foster a deeper appreciation for these reptiles.
